Rivamer is a treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease that assists in enhancing the function of nerve cells in the brain. It is a parasympathomimetic drug aimed at managing mild to moderate dementia related to Alzheimer’s.
Rivamer is primarily prescribed for individuals experiencing mild to moderate dementia linked to Alzheimer’s disease. It aids the brain in improving its functions and capabilities related to thinking, communication, and memory. Rivamer may also be used for indications not mentioned here.
Rivamer works by inhibiting the breakdown of a natural neurotransmitter known as acetylcholine. Acetylcholine plays a vital role in memory, thought processes, and reasoning. Individuals with dementia often have lower than normal levels of this neurotransmitter.
Take Rivamer precisely as directed by your healthcare provider. The dosage you take is determined by the strength of the medication and the patient’s condition. Do not take more than prescribed and avoid using it more frequently than instructed by your doctor. If you are using the capsules, swallow them whole with a glass of water. Do not break, crush, or dissolve the capsules; take them intact.
In case of an overdose, consult your doctor or contact a Poison Control Center for guidance. Seek medical assistance immediately.
While taking Rivamer, you may experience some side effects. Common side effects from Rivamer include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, loss of appetite, or weight loss. If any of these effects persist or worsen, seek emergency medical attention.
